After the successful debut in 2005 the Deutsche Messe AG

presents again to the HANNOVER FAIR 2006 the joint stand

SuperConductingCity in hall 2, Research & Technology.

Within the scope of the HANNOVER FAIR 2005 16 exhibitors participated at SuperConductingCity, amongst others American Superconductor Corporation, Siemens AG, Trithor GmbH, Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. and HTS-110 Ltd.

Over 210,000 visitors informed themselves at the HANNOVER FAIR 2005 of the newest technical and technological trends, thereof alone about 49,000 visitors in hall 2.

The key focus of the presentations staged by the exhibitors (from Japan, New Zealand, the USA and Germany, etc) have been products and processes in the energy sector and mechanical engineering, as well as electronics and sensor technology.

"Superconducting City was definitely a big success and credit is due to RunKom for the professionalism in their organization of the event. I hope that Sumitomo can participate again in 2006. Please extend my thanks and appreciation to Ralf Unnasch."

Pauline Fitzgerald, Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd., Japan “I will appreciate learning about your new plannings. I think the concept of SuperConductingCity is great.”

Geoffrey Todd, HTS-110 Ltd., New Zealand

The HANNOVER FAIR 2006

Objectives of SuperConductingCity

As well as informing the public about the capabilities and the latest applications of superconducting technology, SuperConductingCity also focuses attention on as many of the qualitative aspects as possible.

Key players in the field will not only be presenting what is already available today in terms of know-how, processes and products in all the different areas of application – from energy technology to traffic and transport engineering – but will also profile current developments in the research lab.

Furthermore, the aim is to make the stand a central source of information for visiting professionals such as engineers and scientists – and also to reach out to other groups, including joint venture partners, senior politicians and businessmen and representatives of the media.

In this way the establishment of a joint presentation such as SuperConductingCity, combining the functions of technical information, communication and innovation, serves to build bridges between the worlds of politics, science and industry.

Stand Concept

In hall 2 close to the North entrance the joint stand, covering some 400 m2, will be centrally located

The stand will be designed in a high impact, modern look, with the emphasis on open access and communication

Communication with the visitor and transparency of presentation are the keynote concepts underpinning the design

Only here can the research base and the practical applications of this technology receive such a unique breadth of coverage The thematic content of the presentation will be structured around the practical applications and key areas of research, making this cutting-edge technology accessible to visiting professionals

"Superconductor Week
has a three-fold mission:
to advance the goals of our readers by a critical perspective on low- and high- Tc superconductors and cryogenics; to promote the industry by spreading information and insight to the broadest possible audience; and to provide
a platform for the free exchange of ideas and news within the superconductivity community."
