Upton, NY, 3 August 2007:  Satoshi Ozaki and Michael Harrison, physicist-administrators at the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Brookhaven National Laboratory who led the decade-long development and construction of the Laboratory's world-class particle accelerator, the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC), were awarded the 2007 Particle Accelerator Science & Technology Award. Sponsored by the Nuclear & Plasma Sciences Society of the Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the award consists of $2,000, shared equally between the two recipients and a plaque for each recipient with the inscription: "For leadership in the successful design and construction of the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider."

HTS-110 ships class-leading 5 tesla beamline magnet to HMI, Germany 
Berlin, Germany, 3 August 2007:   HTS-110 has shipped the first of its 5 tesla HTS Beamline magnets to the Hahn-Meitner Institute in Berlin, Germany. It is the most powerful magnet to date from the New Zealand company, achieving an impressive 5.4 tesla during testing, well above the 5 tesla minimum target. The magnet is destined for magnetic diffraction research at the Berlin Electron Synchrotron (BESSY), Germany's advanced synchrotron radiation facility.

Varian, Inc. Reports Third Quarter 2007 Results
Palo Alto, CA, 25 July 2007:  Varian, Inc. (Nasdaq: VARI) today reported that revenues for the third quarter of fiscal year 2007 increased 8.3% from the third quarter of fiscal year 2006. The increase was driven by solid growth in sales of Scientific Instruments products for industrial applications. Demand was strong within Europe, Asia Pacific and Latin America, and while still soft, North America showed sequential improvement. Revenues were $227.1 million in the third quarter of fiscal year 2007, compared to $209.7 million in the third quarter of fiscal year 2006.

AMSC Receives New $70 Million Order from China's Sinovel Wind
Westborough, MA, 24 July 2007:   American Superconductor Corporation (NASDAQ: AMSC)
, a leading energy technologies company, today announced that it has received a follow-on $70 million order for wind turbine electrical systems from Beijing-based Sinovel Wind Corporation Limited. The order calls for AMSC's wholly-owned subsidiary, AMSC Windtec, to ship the customized electrical systems to Sinovel in 2008 for use in Sinovel's 1.5 megawatt (MW) wind energy systems. AMSC Windtec turbine electrical systems provide reliable, high-performance wind turbine operation by controlling power flows, regulating voltage and controlling the pitch of wind turbine blades to maximize efficiency.

AMSC Announces Pricing of Public Offering of Common Stock
Westborough, MA, 20 July 2007:   American Superconductor Corporation (NASDAQ: AMSC)
today announced the pricing of an underwritten public offering of 4,700,000 shares of its common stock at a price to the public of $21.25 per share, before underwriting discounts and commissions. AMSC also granted the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 705,000 shares of common stock. All of the shares are being offered by AMSC. The offering is expected to close on or about July 25, 2007, subject to customary closing conditions.

He will be presented with the award during a meeting of the conference on Tuesday, July 17, in Chattanooga, Tenn.
