Morse LLC Announces Intent to Develop Proton Therapy Center in South Florida Using Technology from Varian Medical Systems

Miami, FL, 19 March 2007:  Morse LLC, and James G. Schwade, M.D., today announced its intent to develop a Proton Therapy Center for South Florida using new technology from Varian Medical Systems, Inc. of Palo Alto, California. The planned center will offer cancer patients the most advanced and precise proton therapy in the world.

Proton therapy uses a sophisticated system with a particle accelerator to precisely deposit radiation directly within tumors while sparing adjacent healthy tissues and organs. According to Morse CEO James G. Schwade, M.D., "our goal is to make proton therapy affordable and accessible to cancer patients across the region," said Schwade.

Up to now, proton therapy has been limited almost exclusively to large institutions with centers that cost well over $100 million. "By working with Varian, the world leader in radiotherapy technology, we intend to build a more affordable facility capable of delivering intensity modulated proton therapy, the most advanced form of this type of therapy."

"We are very pleased to be working with Varian and we have already secured considerable financial support for the new center and we are in the process of securing additional investment," said Dr. Schwade. "We are also moving forward with researching possible sites that are convenient to the
patients of South Florida."

Lester D. Boeh, vice president of Varian's Emerging Businesses, said, "We share Dr. Schwade's vision of more affordable proton therapy for cancer patients. The Varian-Accel technology is uniquely suited for meeting this objective. It's an honor to be working with Dr. Schwade and Morse on
fulfilling this mission."

Varian Medical Systems, Inc., is the world's leading manufacturer of medical products for treating cancer and other medical conditions with radiotherapy, brachytherapy, and radiosurgery. The company is also a premier supplier of X-ray tubes and digital detectors for imaging in medical, scientific, and industrial applications. Additional information is available on the company's web site at http://www.varian.com.

Morse LLC is a privately-held company and a world leader in the operation of radiosurgery centers. It owns radiosurgery centers in Miami and Palm Beach.
