Jul 27: The Energy Bill is expected to be ready for President Bush's review and
approval within the next few days.An important feature of the bill addresses the
stability and modernization of the United States transmission grid including
mandatory reliability standards, and repeal of the Public Utility Holding
Company Act of 1935.
Research and development money is allotted for
innovative, new technologies such as high temperature superconductors, publicly
cited by President Bush as key elements to help stabilize and improve the
electric transmission grid.
The Production Tax Credit will affect a broad range of
energy related products including alternative energy sources such as wind farms
and fuel cells.
