Superconductor Industry Person of the Year 2006
Award
Celebrating the individual who has made the greatest contribution to the
development or commercialization of superconductivity in 2006.
This is your chance to
honor the individual whose work has contributed to the advancement of
either low-temperature or high-temperature superconductors. The
nominee may work in any sector, including science, industry, government,
finance, etc. Impact should be measured as a singular achievement or
effort in 2006.
Download a nomination form: (in
Acrobat PDF).
Anyone may make a nomination, so please tell your colleagues and co-workers.
Nominations will be judged on the basis at least one of the following four criteria:
1. Achievement in science, technology, or business
2. Advocacy in institutions, government, or industry
3. Leadership/vision that assisted others in the advancement of the technology
4. Promotion of the technology to outside the field
The winner will be determined by a panel of leaders in science and industry from around the world,
and announced internationally to media in science, business, and general interest. The winner
will also receive a commemorative plaque.
Thanks for helping to make last year’s award such a great success. Read about 2005's
winners, which were presented at the MRS Spring Meeting 2006, and at the Applied Superconductivity Conference here!
DEADLINE: Please submit your nomination by November 27. Nominations may be
submitted by email to: scipoy@superconductorweek.com.
Nominations for Lifetime Achievement Award
Superconductor Week is also calling for nominations for the Superconductor Industry Lifetime Achievement Award.
Criteria should include all of the above, plus a statement about the individual's personal commitment to the
superconductor industry over the course of the person's career.

has a three-fold
mission:
to advance the goals of our readers
by a critical
perspective on low- and high- Tc superconductors and cryogenics; to promote the
industry by spreading information and insight to the broadest possible audience;
and to provide
a platform for the free exchange of ideas and news within the
